EDWIN J. MURPHY, EA

Ed is the President and Founder of Ed Murphy & Company. He started this business in 1982, working in a one room office in the Sound Beach Square in Sound Beach, NY. Since that time, Ed has focused on providing expert accounting, tax and business consulting services to hundreds of individuals and small businesses. Ed remains on the cutting edge by staying up to date on developments in the tax code and within the profession.

In addition to providing almost 40 years of expertise, Ed prides himself on delivering affordable services in a timely manner with a personal touch. That’s why most of his new clients are referred by existing clients.

Ed is the Director of Complex Individual and Corporate Taxes and handles Estate Planning and Retirement matters. Ed received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from NYU in 1981. Ed is also an Enrolled Agent (EA) and holds a license to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. He is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA), National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP) and National Society of Tax Professionals (NSTP). In 2014, Ed completed his Fellowship with the National Tax Practice Institute (NTPI), which is a vigorous three-year program of contemporary representation practice issues and ethical considerations of representation practice. This includes all representation matters relating to clients’ rights, privileges and liabilities administered by the IRS.

FREDERICK I. KLEET,CPA
TAX MANAGER

Fred started with Ed Murphy & Company in August 2024 after working in the tax department of a couple of local firms as well as a national mid-size firm on Long Island. He specializes in tax preparation and tax planning for both individuals and businesses to ensure compliance and optimum savings.

Fred graduated from Queens College with a Bachelors of Art in Accounting in 2008 and obtained the Certified Public Accountant designation in 2012. He is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the National Society of Tax Professionals (NSTP).

ALLEN P. HUBER, EA
SENIOR TAX PREPARER

Allen has been with Ed Murphy & Company since 2012. He specializes in Individual Taxes, Estates and Trusts, as well as Not-For-Profit Organizations and Tax Audits. He provides expertise in tax resolution matters along with tax planning.

He is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) and National Society of Tax Professions (NSTP). In 2015, Allen completed his Fellowship with the National Tax Practice Institute (NTPI), which is a vigorous three-year program focusing on representing taxpayers before the IRS.

Allen graduated Magna Cum Laude from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology in 1993.

CARTER CARRIERI, EA
Accountant, Notary Public

Carter has been with Ed Murphy & Company since 2020. He joined the staff full time in June 2022 after graduating from Binghamton University Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s in Accounting and then his M.S in Accounting. He obtained his EA in 2023.

His focus is Individual and Corporate tax returns as he completes the exams and NYS requirements to become a Certified Public Accountant.

SUSAN MASTERSON
ACCOUNTANT

Susan has been with Ed Murphy & Co since January 2019 after working as a Senior Financial Analyst for CA Technologies flight department. Her focus is providing clients with a high level of monthly and quarterly accounting services to help them grow and plan their businesses for success. She also oversees billing for the firm.

Susan graduated from Dowling College with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 1993.

Jeanann has been with Ed Murphy & Co since 2004. Her focus is supporting the firm to provide the highest level of customer service. As the firm has grown, she ensures that the personal touch we are known for continues by resolving issues, assisting clients and managing the front office.

Her professional attitude working with our clients reflects her years of experience and dedication to our firm.
