EDWIN J. MURPHY, EA
Ed is President and founder of Ed Murphy & Company. Ed received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from NYU in 1981. Ed is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA), National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP) and National Society of Tax Professionals (NSTP). In November of 2014, Ed will have completed his Fellowship with the National Tax Practice Institute (NTPI), which is a vigorous three year program of contemporary representation practice issues and ethical considerations of representation practice. This includes all representation matters relating to clients’ rights, privileges and liabilities administered by the IRS. Once Ed completes his Fellowship, he will be starting his Master’s Program in Taxation at Golden Gate University.
Ed started this business in 1982 in a one room office in the square in Sound Beach, New York. At that time, there were no computers and everything was prepared with pen and paper. He has been an accountant for 32 years and offers expert accounting, tax and business consulting services to hundreds of individuals and small businesses. In addition to his expertise, he prides himself on delivering affordable services in a timely manner with a personal touch. That’s why most of his new clients are referred by existing clients.
Ed expanded his qualifications by becoming an Enrolled Agent (EA), which is a license to practice before the Internal Revenue Service.
In addition, Ed is the Director of complex Individual and Corporate taxes, as well as Estate Planning, Retirement and Tax Audits.
ALLEN P. HUBER, EA – TAX PREPARER
Allen graduated from Stony Brook University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He graduated Magna Cum Laude. Allen started with our firm in August of 2012.
Allen has since expanded his qualifications by becoming an Enrolled Agent (EA) in October of 2013, which is a license to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. Allen is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) and National Society of Tax Professionals (NSTP). Allen is presently working towards a Fellowship through the National Tax Practice Institute, which is a vigorous three year program and will enable Allen to better represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. He is our resident expert on employee benefits and tax resolution matters.
Allen specializes in Individual and Corporate taxes, as well as Not-For-Profit Organizations and Tax Audits. Allen is computer savvy and this is essential in being on the cutting edge of new and upcoming tax resolutions. Allen works in our office year round.
KIMBERLY A. BOCCHIMUZZO, EA – TAX PREPARER
Kimberly graduated from St. Joseph’s College in 2005 with a BA in Organization Management. Kimberly started working with our firm in 2008.
Kimberly expanded her qualifications by becoming an Enrolled Agent (EA) in January of 2012, which is a license to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. Kim is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA), National Society of Tax Professionals (NSTP) and Accredited Tax Preparer (ATP).
Kimberly specializes in Individual and Corporate taxes, as well as Tax Audits. Kimberly works in our office during tax season.
MATTHEW TREZZA – SENIOR TAX PREPARER
Matt graduated from Suffolk Community College with an Associates’ Degree. Matt is a Senior Tax Preparer and has been with our firm since 2004. With a background in the IT industry, Matt works as our in-house IT specialist. With technology such a big part of our society, Matt is a tremendous asset to our office.
Matt specializes in Individual and Corporate taxes, as well as being a Small Business Network Specialist. Matt works in our office during tax season.
PETER J. ESPOSITO – JUNIOR TAX PREPARER
Peter graduated from St. Joseph’s College with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, Business and Actuarial Science. He started in our office in 2010 as an Intern. After graduating in 2012, he worked at Barclay’s Bank, PLC, in Manhattan, as an Analyst. Peter re-joined our firm in June of 2014 as a Junior Tax Preparer and is currently studying to become an Enrolled Agent.
CAROLYN McNEVIN – BOOKKEEPER
Carolyn graduated from the New York Career Center in 1983 and has worked as a Bookkeeper for the past 30 years. She has worked in our office for the past 9 years and is an asset to our office with her expertise in the bookkeeping field. With Carolyn’s outgoing personality and confidence, she automatically puts our clients at ease.
Carolyn specializes in automotive repair companies, gasoline retail and construction firms. She is also proficient in Quick Books and can assist our clients with setting up their Quick Books’ Program.
CAROL EBERLE – OFFICE MANAGER
Carol has been has been with our office for 5 years and is our Office Manager. Prior to coming to work for our company, Carol has worked in the legal field for the past 25 years. With her background, she brings to us her knowledge and expertise.
By developing a step by step procedure in processing tax returns, gathering data and retrieval of information, Carol has improved the data base of our clients’ needs; whether it is helping a client with the STAR program, Social Security benefits or financial need analysis, the office is running much smoother, with less errors and stress. Although this process will never be perfect, we have never seen an accounting office run as smoothly as ours. We continually strive to better ourselves. We have had many compliments from clients who are happy with the way the office is being run.
Carol is also responsible for overseeing staff members in our office, encouraging a team effort approach and working to form long lasting relationships which instills confidence in our employees and our clients. She brings a personal and friendly touch to our office.
JEANANN HAUF – CLIENT RELATION’S SPECIALIST
Jeanann has been with our office for the past 7 years and is our Client Relation’s Specialist. Jeanann provides excellent customer service. She confirms and sets up appointments for our clients, provides office support, as well as prioritizing client’s needs. She handles any correspondence coming into the office from clients, the IRS or NYS, whether it’s through an e-mail or regular mail. Her focus is always on the client.
She is most likely one of the first faces you’ll see upon arriving at our office. With Jeanann’s competence, she immediately puts a smile on our clients’ faces. She is truly an asset to our office.
